WOOF.

Welcome to You Had Me At Woof Photography Blog! My name is Pam Biasotti. Not only do I photograph babies, children and families but I have a passion for pet photography. I am a San Francisco Bay Area portrait photographer and I am also a destination dog photographer available for travel, including commerical and editorial work. You Had Me At Woof Photography is my website showcasing animals. Pets are members of our family and they should be documented and remembered also. Why not have a fun, on location session with me and embrace the personality of your pet! I am a member of the Professional Photographers of America and a PPA Certified Professional Photographer.

They Say It’s Your Birthday-Dog Photographer Pam Biasotti

Cue the Beatles song…

Where did the year go?  My puppy is not a girl, not yet a woman (sorry had to stick that Britney Spears song in there).  One year ago 9 puppies were born to this happy couple who did the nasty secretly when going outside one fall day.

Sunny was in heat and Jester couldn’t resist her charm. During Christmas of 2008 their breeder noticed Sunny putting on the weight.  Ultrasound revealed a paw waving to her.  A couple weeks later Sunny delivered via c-section.  They were so beautiful and wonderful to visit as I had still mourned my heart dog, Riley.

Red collar girl became mine that March.  We named her Karma.  I adore her, naturally.  She just started agility training this week and we are also working on obedience and rally obedience.  She’s a delight to work with.  We have only one problem:

Karma is not happy being photographed.  Even when I try to catch a shot with the Iphone, she lowers her eyes as if I am hurting her.  She is worse than my children who refuse to let me photograph them as well.  I am beside myself.  I am a dog photographer who is having trouble connecting photographically with her own dog.

She is one of those types that doesn’t “smile” much but I know she is happy because her tail thumps quite frequently when I speak to her.  She just has that expression that makes you wonder if she is plotting her next bowel movement in the dining room or chewing a new plant or wooden step in the backyard.

I cheated in this photo because I let her eat one of her birthday cookies I had piled up for photos.  I don’t know, you be the judge.  Does she appear to be annoyed with me?

This one reminds me of Riley.  Same expression–they are related of course.

We had a good day. We went to downtown Pleasanton to stop off at Murphy’s Paw and get some of these silly things she is wearing today.

I love my girl.  She’s the best thing that happened in 2009.

Even if you aren’t willing to pose the way I want, Karma, you are a fine, obedient, outstanding canine.  You do LISTEN and follow through.  You just don’t love the camera.  It loves you though.  Happy First Birthday, baby.

Danville Family and Dog Photographer

This is the time of year it gets very busy.  I still photograph families and children as I did in this lovely late afternoon session.  I thought I would show you Kita, so you can see what kind of sweetie he is.

I already posted a sneak peak on the Pam Biasotti Blog, but thought I would give little Rusty some limelight since he was a big part of this photo session.  Rusty is a Labradoodle and although he didn’t want to really sit for the camera, when he stopped to pose–he posed well.  I included a few outtakes because his expressions are priceless.  Look at how beautiful his older “siblings” are.

You Had Me At Meow-Bay Area Kitten Photographer

Brother and sister.  4 months old.  Non stop.  I love the challenge of photographing a cat but it certainly is difficult!  Obviously being an on location photographer comes in handy when it comes to photographing the felines.  These, however, were brought to me.

Seth the Wonderdog-Pam Biasotti-Dog Photographer-Sausalito

Seth has the life.  He gets to live peacefully with 2 cats as well as be a hop, skip and jump away from the water.   Partners Jen and Kathleen adore their sweet boy.  He was a pretty good listener and followed instructions well–you know how I love a well trained dog.

First Wednesday Pleasanton downtown is tonight!

This is the last month for the First Wednesday sponsored by the Pleasanton Downtown Association.  It’s from 6-9 pm.  Stop by my booth and say hello one last time until we meet again next May.

Anyone looking to adopt a new kitty?  I can refer you to Tri Valley Animal Rescue if you want to find out more about these two sweet girls.

Three White Dogs-Danville Dog Photographer Pam Biasotti

Three white dogs all very different in size and personality.   This is the big guy Murphy

This is Betsey.

Last but not least is Lola.

This last shot will hopefully please their mom.  For a fleeting moment Murphy wasn’t looking off at the other dogs in the park.  Betsey decided to give me her full attention and Lola, who can’t see, paid close attention to what I was telling her.

The last first Wednesday of the Pleasanton Downtown Association is happening in September.  I have some photographs that were taken at the Dog Days of Summer August Pooch Parade, but haven’t had the chance to post them.  It’s almost time for school to start and that’s always a beautiful thing.  Also coming up in September will be the annual Bark in the Park in San Jose.  I will have a booth there and am looking forward to meeting the 14,000 plus folks and their dogs.

Diablo Magazine Pet Issue-editorial photography by Pam Biasotti

This month’s issue of Diablo magazine has a special issue which includes all sorts of things about pets from A to Z.  My photograph of Maybelle the Pug is featured in this issue, along with a capture of Murphy’s Paw Bark and Brew.

Diablo is the magazine of the San Francisco East Bay, so there are many subscribers to this publication and I am honored to have my work be part of this issue.

I just returned from a long weekend trip to the midwest and I am catching up on my emails and phone calls.  Pyrenees Pets photos taken by me at the Summer Doggie Benefit for ARF  will be delivered to the store early next week.  You will hear from me regarding where to pick up your prints.

Ahhhh…feels so good to be out of the humidity and back to the greatest place on earth.  Miz Karma has been under the weather the past few days and I am making sure she gets well quickly.

Meet Great Dane Olivia from Seattle–San Francisco Dog Photographer Pam Biasotti

I  was so excited to connect with Nichole  Smith and her Great Dane, Olivia on Sunday!  Nichole was on her way home to Seattle and we found some time to hang out with our dogs and do some shooting.  Nichole did the design and branding for my new logo.   We agreed to do a photo shoot of our girls at Baker Beach.   Karma came along with me and all was well until she decided it was time to throw up while we were driving on the Bay Bridge.  Not once, but twice.  Let me tell you it wasn’t fun coping with that.  I admit when I finally found Nichole I forgot my troubles and we happily went to Baker Beach to enjoy the beautiful day.   Here’s a sneak peak of some of the moments together Sunday.

This one of Karma sneaking in cracks me up!  This dog doesn’t want me to photograph her, but when I am photographing another dog she just shows up.  Go figure.

CityDogMagazine photos-Editorial photos by Pam Biasotti

CityDogMagazine is a publication devoted to dogs of the West–Seattle, Portland and San Francisco.  If you haven’t checked it out, please do and subscribe!  There are great articles covering canine get aways, dog products, events, you name it.  The summer issue is out and if you check out pages 32-24 you can read about Peace Corp Pups written by Heather Bloch. I was given the opportunity to take photographs for Heather’s article.   I had the pleasure of documenting 4 different individuals and the dogs they rescued.  These dogs all ended up coming back to the U.S.  I witnessed fabulous  connections, amazing dogs and learned some interesting stories.
